TIP OF THE MONTH
With the temps dropping, staying warm and safe is extremely important. Check that all smoke and CO detectors are in proper working condition. Follow the manufacturers safety precautions when using space heaters. Keep your walkways clear of ice and snow to avoid falls. Give yourself extra time when driving. Allow more distance between vehicles and observe what’s happening ahead of you. Keep a well packed survival kit in your car in case you are stranded during a storm. Stay with your car if stranded and wait for help to find you. Cold weather means additional safety precautions for your pets. Wipe their paws when they come in. They can ingest salt and other chemicals while licking their paws. If they spend a lot of time outdoors, increase their food supply. Make sure they have a warm place to sleep.
